Week 9 Reflections! I have just completed my week 9 lecture and it has left me contemplating where I sit in the beginnings of my design journey. The last assessment for this class is on of reflections and future pathways and what I hope to shape this new venture into going forward. This is something I need to spend a little time to think on. I have some ideas but nothing firm as yet. I tend to be a let's see where this takes me kinda girl, as this is the approach I have used frequently in my life, however, I think maybe I need to set some goals to get to where I think my heart is calling for. Stay tuned! L xx

Reflecting! I have just watched the recorded lecture for this week in my Intro to Design class, and have realised I have jumped the gun on a couple of things. I submitted my Assessment 2 a little too early. Initially, I thought the submission date was a week earlier than what it was and was all ready to hit submit, having completed all elements of the requirements, or so I thought! Then realising that I had another week, I decided to submit anyway. After listening to this weeks lecture, I have realised there are a couple of details I should have refined and added to, but now I am unable to. As all my best thoughts, wonderings and ideas come to me in the shower (😏), I was thinking about my study habits tonight and why I submitted before I had to. My reflections were that I tend to stress and worry when I have multiple important tasks and due dates looming, in addition to work and home commitments, so then rush to submit things to take it off my plate! Going forward in ...

Hi all, It's been a little while since my last post and it's been a hectic time to say the least. I have found juggling 2 subject, Graphic Communication and Introduction to Design, coupled with work and general domestic bliss, to be hard work! Adding to the mix of a few days away for my husband's birthday, the feeling of getting behind was at the forefront. So, I knuckled down and poured many hours into both subjects to catch up and complete the assignments. I'm nearly there now, just waiting for some feedback before completing my Assessment 2 for Cubes of Curiosity, I'll then physically make the cubes, photograph them and hit that submit button. I found my mind circling back, thinking about the visions of each cube design, the colours, pattern and overall desired outcome I wanted to achieve with both assignments. It's been all consuming and just a little tiring, but I think well worth it. Until next time. L xx

Hellooo, As we end one month since I started this course, I cannot believe how quickly it is flying by. Of the two subjects I have undertaken, I am finding little connections beginning to form. Although I find myself a little under pressure to make sure I am keeping on top of everything, I feel I just might be able to do this, evening juggling work and all the other responsibilities that domestic bliss brings in life. Until next week. L 😊

17/6/26 Post Two! Well, I'm writing this after our 3rd module meet and I've got to say I really enjoyed the 'Trends' content! This last week I've been trying to navigate the in's and out's of the Torrens site, working out what needs to be submitted and where and wondering if I have bitten off too much at this stage of my life and questioning if I am up for the challenge! However, in both today's lesson and yesterday's Graphic Comms lesson, I have found I am really interested in what is being discussed and eager to learn more. Time is probably my biggest enemy, fitting in a busy life around learning something very new, and stretching my technical knowledge and learning new programs. Not that easy for a Gen X!! 😝 Until next week, Lisa xx

Hi all, This is my first post for the Diploma of Interior Design. I go into this cautiously optimistic, following a life long desire to follow my heart, lean into my creativity and immerse myself into the design world. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all, follow your journey and to learn and be inspired by each other. Lisa xx
